TBM disc cutters, also called TBM roller cutters, roller disc cutters, TBM cutter tools, are arranged on the TBM cutter-head in a certain pattern to bore soil and/or rock. TBM disc cutters may be exposed in slurry, soft ground, mixed ground and hard rock during excavation. The varied and harsh geology require TBM disc cutters to have high wear resistance, toughness, sealing ability and long lifetime.

 

Ground conditions determine the cutters selection and their arrangement on the cutter-head. Besides the efficiency and service life of the cutters, easy cutter-changing and refurbishment should also be considered. TBM cutters

We manufacture various types of 17", 18", 19" and 20" TBM disc cutters, which could be interchanged with Palmieri, Herrenknecht, Robbins and Wirth TBM disc cutters. We also provide tailor-made TBM disc cutters upon requests. Our TBM disc cutter features:

  1. The cutters are always exposed to abrasive muck when excavating in soft and mixed ground, while the cutters might be crashed when boring in hard rock. All the other cutter parts are appropriately heat-treated to improve wear resistance and prevent deformation.

  2. The cutter pre-torque value is adjusted to the proper level by preloading bearings correctly under complex ground conditions, especially in soft ground, so the cutters can rotate freely and are prevented from being blocked.

  3. We always manufacture and supply high-quality TBM disc cutters to our customers even under hard ground conditions (click cases for more details).

  4. TBM cutter rings would be highly wear resistant and robust as the key excavation component. To bore different grounds with maximum efficiency, there are various kinds of cutter rings to choose from. If the ground is very abrasive but not hard, TCI cutter rings should be considered. If the rock is very hard, heavy-duty cutter rings should be utilized.

  5. High quality Timken tapered roller bearings are utilized in our complete cutters, which improves the cutter load capacity and lifetime.

  6. The metal seal employed greatly improves the sealing ability even under high pressure, thereby prevents leak of lubricant and ingress of foreign materials. As a result, the bearing has a longer lifetime. The pressure compensation device would be considered in case the water pressure exceeds 0.6MPa.

 

The products are mainly used in coal mine, metal mine, water conservancy and Hydropower Engineering and other fields. The overall structure design and material selection of the drill bit are scientific and reasonable. In order to adapt to various working conditions, the high-quality alloy is selected for this specification product, and the inlaid alloy is divided into wedge-shaped teeth and cone-shaped teeth, so as to ensure that the drill head has the advantages of good wear resistance, large overall strength and good rock breaking effect in the drilling process.
